Diana is a researcher at REMAP, working on the Remapping LA project. Together with Fabian Wagmister, she is both producing and building the community participatory interactive video media content for the project.
She has a background in filmmaking, communications and human computer interaction. She holds two bachelor degrees in Cinema from Murdoch University with first class Honors from Binghamton University, New York and Multimedia with 2A Honors from Murdoch University, Australia and an MA in Communications from the European Graduate School, Switzerland. Diana’s films have won numerous experimental awards and funding. They have been exhibited and distributed in various festivals in Australia, England, France and the USA.
Prior to joining, UCLA Diana taught at Curtin University and ECU in Western Australia. Diana is currently writing her PhD dissertation at UCLA on Machinima as a visualization and communication medium. Before taking theoretical interest in machinima, Diana successfully patented three machinima related methods and/ or apparatuses.
She is a UCLA member of the Game Lab, UCLA Visualization Portal and UCLA Interpretative Media Lab where she also works.
